Shenkman centre mixes in Kim Mitchell, Cowboy Junkies and The Once in 2017-18

The Shenkman Arts Centre in Orleans has announced a 2017-18 season with a mix of comedy, some rock and roll and a splash of local talent.

Kim Mitchell will, no doubt, turn on the Patio Lanterns for his show in November. Add into the musical mix performances by The Once, the Sultans of String, Cowboy Junkies and The Arrogant Worms.

Families with small children will enjoy Nova Scotia’s Mermaid Theatre as they present Guess How Much I Love You and I Love My Little Storybook. In addition Ottawa’s Tara Luz Danse ensemble returns with Angélie’s Shoes, Créations in Vivo presents Charly in the Desert and Jeunesses Musicales offers The Story of Babar, featuring one very famous elephant.

Comedy is always king at the Shenkman centre. Next season will feature a show by Steve Patterson of the CBC-Radio show The Debaters. There will also be a New Year’s Eve Comedy Show.
