Ottawa writer Joanne Proulx’s latest novel optioned for television

Joanne Proulx

Ottawa writer Joanne Proulx has two novels published and both seem destined for North American screens, big and small.

Toronto-based Artemis Pictures has picked up an option on Proulx’s latest novel We All Love the Beautiful Girls which was published last year, with an eye on turning it into a television series.

The novel is set in Ottawa and involves three families involved in a bitter feud

Artemis is a partnership between Barbara Willis Sweete, a founding partner of Rhombus Media, TV executive, Joan  Jenkinson and business woman Susanne Ritzau.

Proulx’s first novel Anthem of a Reluctant Prophet has been turned into a feature film starring Cameron Monaghan, Peyton List and Juliette Lewis. It is in post-production and will be released soon.
