Four musicals will hit the NAC’s Southam Hall stage in 2018-19 as Broadway Across Canada marks its 20th year.

The season opens with the School of Rock by Andrew Lloyd Webber based on the film hit that starred Jack Black, as the teacher who turned students into rock stars. It runs Sept. 25 – 30.

School of Rock starts it all off.

That will be followed by the Tony award winning Beautiful which covers the legendary Carole King’s career from the early days writing songs with her former husband Gerry Goffin to her later massive success with the album Tapestry and beyond. This show runs from Jan. 1 to Jan. 6, 2019.

One of the best loved Broadway productions ever, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I has been revived by the Lincoln Centre in New York and is headed to Ottawa March 12 –17, 2019.

Last, but certainly not least, the Canadian and Newfoundland story about the planes that landed in Gander after 9/11 and the friendships that formed out of the tragedy, Come From Away will be on view from Aug. 20 to Sept. 1, 2019.
